Sriangar, Jun 18 (UNI) Asking security forces to remain vigilant Defence Minister A K Antony said there could be attempts of infiltration from across the border and the coming months would be challenging.
Although the over all security situation in Jammu and Kashmir had vastly improved but there sould be no room for complacency as coming months were full of challenges, Mr Antony said at a high-level meeting here last evening.
He said there were forces within and outside the country that did not want peaceful, free and fair elections to take place in the state. These forces, he said, could try to disrupt peace and create problems.
''We have to be more vigilant,'' he said, adding, ''we are ready to meet any eventuality''.
On infiltration, the Defence Minister said things were much better and the situation was under control at the moment.
However, he said there could be attempts of infiltration so the security forces had to be more careful.
