Asian Paints to set up plant in IMT, Rohtak
Rohtak, Jun 18 (UNI) Asian Paints will set up a plant at Industrial Model Township (IMT) here Rohtak at a cost of Rs 1,200 crore.
The foundation stone of this plant would be laid on June 22, Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda said today while redressing the grievances of the people at Canal Rest House here.
He said with the setting up of this plant, Rohtak would be developed at the same speed at which Gurgaon was developed after coming up of Maruti Udyog.
The establishment of a big unit like Asian Paints would result in setting up of a number of downstreams units/ancillaries in the nearby areas benefitting local youths, he added.
The Chief Minister said that IMT, Rohtak would usher in an era of economic prosperity in the area as thousands of youths, both literate and illiterate, would get employment in it.
He said the problem of unemployment could only be dealt with by establishing big industrial units in each district on the pattern of Delhi and Gurgaon.
Unlike previous state governments, which adopted biased attitude in the matter of development, the present government was all set to ensure all round development of the state without any discrimination. Big industries were being set up across the state to resolve the problem of unemployment, he added.
He remarked that it was a matter of pride for the people of the state that the Central government had sanctioned sixth prestigious Indian Institute of Management (IIM) for the state which would be set up at village Garnavathi of Rohtak district at a cost of Rs 250 crore.
IIM would prove a boon for the youth of the state, as it was bigger institute than a university, he added.
