Zoom Developers bags contract from Railways

New Delhi, Jun 17: Real estate firm Zoom Developers today said it has bagged contract from the Indian Railways to build four budget hotels. The company has won the bid for Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) Ratna Budget Hotels at four places: Chennai, Pondicherry, Manglore and Coimbatore, it said in a statement.

These hotels will have 80, 110, 120 and 170 rooms respectively, it added. ''These budget hotels will cater to the growing demand of the Railway travellers and of the increased demand of the tourist and business travellers visiting the cities / country,'' said Director, Zoom Motels, Rameet Trehan .

In 2006, IRCTC had announced its plan of setting up of 100 budget rail hotels across the country and in the first phase, it had decided to open bids for 30 locations. Last month it had awarded contracts for setting up of hotels in Raipur, Bilaspur and Guwahati. IRCTC, a sister organisation of Indian Railway, has already awarded bids for 24 hotels across the country.
