Waterlogging disrupts train services in Howrah and Kharagpur

Kolkata, Jun 17 (UNI) Severe waterlogging caused by heavy rainfall affected train services in Howrah and Kharagpur divisions today.

A number of trains, both long-distance and local, were either short-terminated or re-scheduled.

While 8645 Up East Coast Express was cancelled, 8183 Tatanagar-Danapur Express, 8182 Chhapra-Tatanagar Express, 3288 Danapur-Tatanagar-Durg South Bihar Express and 315 Howrah-Adra-Chakradharpur Passenger Train had to be detained en-route.

Most of the local trains on the Howrah-Kharagpur section have been short-terminated.

8029 Dn LTT-Shalimar Express, 2814 Tatanagar-Howrah, 2821 Howrah-Bhubaneshwar Dhauli Express, 2883 Howrah-Purulia Rupasi Bangla Express, 2021 Howrah-Barbil Janshatabdi Express, 2871 Howrah-Sambalpur Ispat Express and 468 Bhadrak-Howrah Passenger Train have been short-terminated till Kharagpur.

8646 Hyderabad-Howrah East Coast Express will be short-terminated at Bhadrak.

Several EMU locals from Howrah were cancelled due to water logging at Howrah EMU car-shed.

Circular Railway services between Bagbazar&BBD Bag stations have been suspended since early morning due to waterlogging on tracks near Mullick Ghat. However, services were maintained between Dum Dum and Bagbazar and between BBD Bag and Majerhat.
