SG Banking appoints Nipun Mehta as Head in India

Mumbai, Jun 17: Societe Generale Group has announced the appointment of Nipun Mehta as Executive Director&Head in India for its wealth management arm--SG Private Banking.

Announcing the appointment last evening, Managing Director&Global Market Manager for Indian Subcontinent Balakrishnan Kunnambath said that Nipun Mehta, a financial veteran, will help the private bank to strengthen its existing business model in India. Mr Mehta is based in Mumbai and will be responsible for business development and day-to-day operations of the bank in India and will report at the regional hub of SG Private Banking (Asia Pacific) in Singapore, the bank said.

Before joining SG Private Banking India, Mr Mehta was Chief Executive Officer of a pioneering wealth solutions company managing wealth for high net-worth and ultra high net-worth Individuals and Non-Resident Indians. Between 1995 and 2002, he has been a member of four important advisory committees and panels set up by the Securities&Exchanges Board of India, the Bank added.
