Saudi Arabia considering increasing India's Haj quota
New Delhi, Jun 17 (UNI) The Indian embassy in Riyadh today clarified that the Saudi side was considering New Delhi's request for increase in Haj quota, according to a statement issued by the mission and subsequently released here.
A press release issued by the Indian embassy in Riyadh, referring to media reports quoting the Indian Ambassador that the Haj quota for India had been increased, said there was no information from the Saudi government on the issue.
The Ambassador had only informed the media that the Haj quota of India had been fixed at 160,491.
''The official requesst from the India side to increase the quota further is under consideration by the Saudi side,'' the release said.
