Sakleshpura receives 9 cm rain

Bangalore, Jun 17 (UNI) Following is a summary of observations recorded by the weather office here at 0830 hours today.

Monsoon was normal over South Interior Karnataka and week over Coastal Karnataka and North Interior Karnataka. Rainfall occurred at many places over Coastal Karnataka; at a few places over South Interior Karnataka and at isolated places over North Interior Karnataka.

Sakleshpura recoreded heavy rainfall 9 cm.

Chief amounts of rainfall (cm): Dharmasthala 6, Kollur 5, Ankola, Belthangadi, Bhagamandala 4 each, Karkala, Siddapura, Sirsi, Agumbe, Kammardi 3 each, Udupi, Karwar, Gerusoppa, Banavasi, Jamakhandi, Napoklu, Mudigere, Sringeri 2 each, Mulki, Subramanya, Madikeri, Virajpet, Humchadakatte, Koppa 1 each.

Forecast valid until Thursday morning: Rain/thundershowers likely to occur at many places over Coastal Karnataka and at a few places over Interior Karnataka.

Farmers Weather Bulletin: Moderate to rather heavy rain likely to occur at many places over Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Uttara Kannada, Kodagu, Shimoga, Chikmagalur and Hassan districts. Light to moderate rain likely to occur at a few places over remaining districts of Interior Karnataka.

Heavy Rainfall Warning: Heavy rain likely to occur at isolated places over Coastal Karnataka and ghat areas of South Interior Karnataka during next 48 hours.

Local forecast: Generally cloudy sky. Surface winds will be strong and gusty at times. Light rain likely.
