Kathmandu, June 17 : At a time the three top Nepal political parties have been debating over the modalities of integration of the Maoist combatants into the Nepal Army, security experts have suggested not to take hasty decisions on such a sensitive issue.

According to Nepalnews, former Nepal Army Lieutenant General CB Gurung suggested that the parties should formulate a national security policy before the integration of the two forces.

"Integration of the two armed forces must go as per the need of Nepal when it is turned into a federal nation," Gurung said.

Deputy Commander of the People Liberation Army (PLA) Nanda Kishwor Pun stated that the PLA would not be dismantled and added the issue has been raised to obstruct Maoists leading the government.

Pun presented a proposal for formation of a technical team of the Constituent Assembly (CA) empowering it to decide the integration once the CA drafts a policy on restructuring the state and designs a broader national security policy.
