Kochi, Jun 17 (UNI) In its effort to form a new body, the breakaway group of the Malayalam Cine Technicians Association (MACTA) Federation has decided to constitute an adhoc committee under the chairmanship of film director Siddique.
The who's who of the Malayalam film industry, including versatile actors Mammooty and Mohanlal, were present at a meeting here yesterday convened by the group to discuss the formation of the new body.
In the meeting, B Unnikrishnan and Aroma Mohan were selected as the General Convenor and Treasurer of the Committee respectively.
Besides, an advisory committee was also formed, which included Hariharan, Joshi, Fazil, Renjith, Renji Panicker, John Paul and Sibi Malayil.
Siddique said the new body would be formed in the next three weeks and the organisation would work for betterment of the film industry.
The new body would have the backing of the Association of Malayalam Movie Artistes (AMMA) and the Kerala Film Producers' Association and some representatives of the 19 unions under the MACTA, he claimed.
The Federation split last week following discord among the Director's union over actor Dileep's decision not to associate with a film directed by Tulasidas.
