Bhubaneswar, Jun 17 (UNI) Incessant rains following low pressure forced the East Coast Railways(ECoR) to cancel several Howrah bound trains while other long distance trains were either short terminated or diverted.
Those cancelled today included 2841 Howrah-Chennai Coromandal Express, 8409 Howrah-Puri Shri Jagannath Express,2839 Howrah-Chennai Mail, 201 Howrah-Puri Passenger, 2863 Howrah-Yeshvantpur Express, 2837 Howrah-Puri Express and 2847 Howrah-Vaskodagama Express from Howrah.
Similarly,the 0896 Puri-Howrah Special, 8410 Puri-Howrah Sri Jagannath Express and 2838 Puri-Howrah Express from Puri were also cancelled.
The 2821 Howrah-Bhubaneswar Dhauli Express will be short terminated at Kharagpur and will return back as 2822 Bhubaneswar- Howrah Dhauli Express from Kharagpur to Howrah. The services of 2821/2822 Howrah-Bhubaneswar-Howrah Dhauli Express will remain cancelled between Kharagpur and Bhubaneswar from both the direction.
The 2074 Bhubaneswar- Howrah Jan Shatabdi Express will be short terminated at Bhadrak and will return back as 2073 Howrah- Bhubaneswar Jan Shatabdi Express from Bhadrak to Bhubaneswar. The services of 2074/2073 Howrah-Bhubaneswar-Howrah Jan Shatabdi Express will remain cancelled between Bhadrak and Howrah from both the direction on date.
The 8646 Hyderabad-Howrah East Coast Express will be short terminated at Bhadrak and will return back as 8645 Howrah-Hyderabad East Coast Express from Bhadrak to Hyderabad. The services of 8646/8645 Hyderabad-Howrah-Hyderabad East Coast Express will remain cancelled between Bhadrak and Howrah from both the direction.
ECoR sources said the 2871 Howrah-Sambalpur Ispat Express will be short terminated at Kharagpur and will return back as Passenger special from Kharagpur to Santragachi. This train will cancel between Kharagpur and Chakradharpur.
Similarly,the 2872 Sambalpur-Howrah Ispat Express will be short terminated at Chakradharpur and will return back as 2871 Howrah-Sambalpur Ispat Express from Chakradharpur to Sambalpur.
The services of this train will remain cancelled between Chakradharpur and Howrah.
The 468 Bhadrak-Howrah Passenger will be short terminated at Kharagpur and will return back as 467 Howrah-Bhadrak Passenger from Kharagpur to Bhadrak. This train will be cancelled between Kharagpur and Howrah.
The 8006 Koraput-Howrah Samaleswari Express leaving Koraput on date will be short terminated at Rourkela and will return back as 8005 Howrah-Koraput Samaleswari Express from Rourkela to Koraput.
The 2703 Howrah-Secunderabad Falaknuma Express has been short terminated at Bhadrak and will return back as 2704 Secunderabad- Howrah Falaknuma Express from Bhadrak to Howrah.
The 8477/8478 Puri-Haridwar-Puri Kalinga Utkal Express will be diverted today via Cuttack, Angul Jharsuguda and Bilaspur instead of its original path via Kharagpur.
Similarly,the 2875 Puri-New Delhi Neelachal Express and 2801 Puri-New Delhi Purusottam Express will be diverted via Cuttack- Angul, Jharsuguda and Tata today. The 6309 Ernakulam-Patna Express will be diverted via Cuttack-Angul, Jharsuguda and Chandil instead of its original path.
