Patna, Jun 17 (UNI) In order to minimise devastation caused by catastrophic flood every year in North Bihar, the state health department has instructed all the district magistrates and civil surgeons to be cautious against epidemics during flood.
Official sources here today said the health department has asked the civil surgeon and Chief Medical Officers(CMO) to take necessary steps to prevent epidemics during the perennial flood.
They have been instructed to maintain the proper supply of medicines in every Primary Health Centres(PHCs) of the flood-prone districts.
The sources maintained that the administration had been instructed to take special care to stock anti-venom serums and anti-rabies drugs in PHCs to provide proper medi-care during flood.
An epidemic cell has also been set up in the health directorate for proper monitoring of the arrangements made to check epidemics during flood. The cell will function under the Director-in-chief, health services, sources added.
