CRPF constable slain in Chhattisgarh
Jagdalpur, Chhattisgarh, June 17 (UNI) A Central Reserve Police Force constable was killed and two injured in a naxal ambush near Kanker district's Kondegaon today.
''The deceased was identified as Devidas. Constables Shatrughan Singh Yadav and Girijashankar were admitted to the Kanker District Hospital. A team of constables was returning with bodies of rebels' victims when the incident occurred,'' said Deputy Inspector-General (Bastar Range) Pawan Dev.
The Maoists opened fire, the constables retaliated and the encounter lasted about two hours. A police force was rushed to the area.
