CPI leader commits suicide in Punjab
Hoshiarpur, June 17 (UNI) A former secretary of the Mahilpur unit of the CPI, Major Singh Sandhu today allegedly committed suicide by consuming some poisonous pills at a 'dhaba' near Mahilpur.
According to the police, the CPI leader was immediately shifted to civil hospital, Mahilpur from where was referred to the civil hospital here. The doctors tried their best to save him, but could not revive him.
A preliminary inquiry by the police revealed that the family of the deceased was facing financial strain, which could be reason behind the suicide.
