Cheryl Cole turns teary eyed on the X Factor

London, Jun 17 : 'Girls Aloud' band member Cheryl Cole kept breaking down and crying during the X Factor auditions it has emerged.

Cole, who replaced Sharon Osbourne as judge on the ITV1 hit, was so moved by the hard luck stories of pop wannabes, that she was could not stop herself from shedding a few tears.

But with so much going on in her private life, it is only expected that she would be extremely emotional during filming.

"Cheryl has found it hard-going. She thought the auditions were going to be a laugh. But when wannabes come on with their life stories it can get quite harrowing," the Sun quoted a show source as saying.

"Cheryl has sat there crying quite a lot. It really reminds her of her own background and start in music.

"She came from a humble home in Newcastle and had to battle to get through Popstars: The Rivals," the source added.

Cole herself had to struggle to get where she is, winning herself a place in Girls Aloud, with the group soon having a No1 Christmas hit with 'Sound Of The Underground'.

The 24-year-old singer has been having it rough after her husband Chelsea footballer star Ashley Cole cheated on her with a hairdresser.

The whole affair has taken a huge toll on her, causing her bouts of tears, but she is slowly coming around and starting to look better while filming with fellow judges Simon Cowell, Louis Walsh and Dannii Minogue.
