Mumbai, Jun 16: Silver today remained steady on moderate demand, while gold eased by Rs 20 per ten gm from its last close, despite high global advice, at the opening session, traders at the Bombay Bullion Association said here.
Silver (999 finesses grade) opened at Rs 23,780 per kg, while standard gold quoted at Rs 12,080 per ten gm and pure gold at Rs 12,140 per ten gm. In international market gold rose to USD 871.40/872.40 an ounce from USD 869.00/870.00 an ounce late in New York on Friday, with a gain of more than USD 1 an ounce. Silver edged up to USD 16.56/16.62 an ounce from USD 16.48/16.56, late in New York, as the dollar slipped against the euro.
