Shimla, Jun 16 (UNI) Active monsoon brought moderate to heavy rains in all mid and lower hills of Himachal Pradesh during the last 24 hrs.
Shimla town was the wettest place in the state with 41.6 mm rains during the last 24 hrs up to 1730 hrs followed by 24.9 mm at Sundernagar, 29 mm at Mandi, 8.8 mm at Bhuntar and 12.6 mm at Una, the met office told UNI here.
Nahan in Sirmaur district recorded 5.4 mm rain, while Solan town experienced about 1.4 mm rains.
The sky over Shimla town and other adjoining areas remained under a thick layer of clouds and experienced light intermittent rains throughout the day.
Meanwhile, the met office said the day temperatures across the state rose by a few degrees, while the night temperatures fell owing to overnight rains in the state.
Shimla town recorded two degrees increase in the day temperature at 21.5 degrees as compared to 19 recorded yesterday, Sundernagar 29, Bhuntar 30.8, Kalpa 21.5 and Dharamshala 26.6 degree Celsius.
The night temperature of the state capital was recorded at 15.7 degrees as compared to 16.4 degree recorded yesterday, while Sundernagar, Bhuntar and Kalpa recorded 21.7, 19.8 and 11.5 degree Celsius respectively, the met office said.
The minimum temperature at Dharamshala remained stationary at 17.3, while Mandi recorded 22.5, Nahan 18.7, Keylong 13.4, Una 23.3 and Solan 20.
The met office has forecast more rains at many places in the state during the next 24 hrs.
