Washington, June 16 : Eva Mendes is in talks to team up with Nicolas Cage once again in 'Bad Lieutenant'.
The two starred in 'Ghost Rider' and are now looking to make Werner Herzog's remake of the original 1992 pic that saw Harvey Keitel starring as a corrupt cop investigating a nun's rape.
The new Nu Image/Millennium Films pic is being produced by Edward R. Pressman and Stephen Belafonte along with Alan and Gabe Polsky, who financed development of the project.
With an updated version penned by Billy Finkelstein, lensing is set to begin late summer, reports Variety.
Nu Image/Millennium's Avi Lerner, Danny Dimbort, Trevor Short and Boaz Davidson are exec producing.
Elliot Rosenblatt and Alessandro Camon. Randall Emmett and Cage's Saturn Films are also on board as producers.
Mendes will next be seen next in ensemble comedy "The Women" and Frank Miller's "The Spirit."
