Lucknow, Jun 16 (UNI) Government Railway Police (GRP) today arrested a man at Mugalsarai railway station in Chandauli district and seized 2,400 detonators from his possession.
Over suspicion, railway police intercepted two passangers alighting Mugalsarai-Gaya train. The suspects tried to flee the scene, however, police nabbed one of them, GRP sources said.
On being frisked, 2,400 detonators were recovered from the duo's bag.
The accused was identified as Ravikant a resident of Rohtas district, Bihar, whereas his accomplice, who managed to escape, was identified as Sravan Kumar.
Fourteen hundred Detonators, which were recovered from Ravikant's bag were of Nalgoda, Andra Pradesh, however, Sravan's (1,000) were made in Harayana, GRP sources added.
Ravikant had been earlier held twice with a haul of detonators.
Police have launched a manhunt to nab the absconder.
On June 12, around 3,100 detonators were seized from Mugalsarai station.
