Mumbai, Jun 16 (UNI) Copper heavy and brass cuttings in ferrous metals category moved up today in view of strong advice from London Metal Exchange (LME) along with Kolkata, Delhi and other centres, traders at the Bombay Metal Exchange said.
In ferrous metal category, copper heavy and brass cuttings edged up by Rs 200 and Rs 100 per quintal respectively amid lsser stock supply by stockists.
Copper utensils, brass utensils and aluminium utensils remained flat on moderate demand by stockists.
In non-ferrous metal category, copper wire bars and nickel cathode advanced amid renewed buying support by stockists. Copper wire bars increased by Rs 300 per quintal and nickel cathode improved by Rs 10 per kg.
Zinc slab witnessed a downward trend, declining by Rs 200 per quintal owing to sustained heavy selling pressure by stockists.
Aluminium ingot, lead ingot and tin slab remained flat on scattered buying by stockists, traders added.
Following are the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: copper heavy - Rs 37,700, copper utensils - Rs 33,200, brass utensils - Rs 25,100, brass cuttings - Rs 26,600 and aluminium utensils - Rs 11,200.
Non-ferrous metals: copper wire bars - Rs 41,300, aluminium ingots - Rs 14,600, zinc slab - Rs 10,100, lead ingots - Rs 10,400, tin slab - Rs 1,135 per kg and nickel cathode - Rs 1,250 per kg.
