Clashes between two groups, 7 arrested
Nashik, Jun 16 (UNI) Seven people were arrested, following clashes between two groups at Nashik Road, suburb of the city.
According to the police some people beat Anil Thakre, a shopkeeper in Gorewadi area of the suburb for watching their dispute yesterday. This led to clashes between supporters of People's Republican Party - Congress Front corporator from the area Santosh Salwe and Mahatma Phule Samata Parishad Nashik Road unit president Harish Bhadange.
The two groups also clashed in Nashik Road police station premises later in the evening, police said. Police has seized a vehicle carrying some swords and other weapons. The corporator also threatened Mr Bhadange on gunpoint, police added.
Three persons, who were injured during the clash were admitted at Bytco Hospital here.
Three separate cases of riot have been registered against 15 people and seven people were arrested in the matter, late last night.
Corporator Salve and seven others were absconding, police said.
