7 injured in drunken driving
Mumbai, Jun 16 (UNI) Seven persons were injured, two of them critically, when a car rammed two stationary autorickshaws near Tahoora Mansion on the S V Road in suburban Malad here.
At around 2300 hrs last night, a Maruti swift car driven by one Sunil Shah, who was apparently drunk, hit the autorickshaws, injuring seven people, including pedestrians.
The injured were admitted to the Bhagwati and Hinduja hospitals.
Police have arrested Shah on charge of rash driving under the influence of alcohol.
Meanwhile, in a similar incident this morning at 0300 hrs, an imported car hit two stationary taxis near the Tardeo bridge in south central Mumbai, damaging the vehicles.
According to police, driver of the car D Ajit was under the influence of alcohol. Ajit, who sustained minor injuries, was shifted to Nair Hospital.
Police has registered an offence and arrested the driver.
