Bangalore, Jun 15(UNI) Following is a summary of observations recorded by the Weather Office here at 0830hrs today.
Monsoon was vigorous over South Interior Karnataka and weak over North Interior Karnataka. Rainfall occurred at most places over Coastal Karnataka and at few places over North Interior Karnataka.
Kottigehara recorded very heavy rainfall of 14 cm.
Heavy amounts of rainfall(cm): Madikeri, Napoklu 7 each.
Other chief amounts of rainfall(cm): Puttur, Humchadakatte 6 each Sringeri, Jayapura, 5 each, Mani, Dharmasthala, Kota, Kundapur, Ankola, Talaguppa 4 each.
Forecast valid until Tuesday morning: Rain/thundershowers likely to occur at many places over Coastal Karnataka and ghat regions of South Interior Karnataka and at isolated places the rest of the State.
Farmers Weather Bulletin: Moderate to rather heavy rain likely to occur at many places over all the districts of Coastal Karnataka and Kodagu, Shimoga, Chikmagalur and Hassan districts of South Interior Karnataka. Light to moderate rain likely to occur at isolated places places over all the districts of North Interior Karnataka and remaining districts of South Interior Karnataka.
Heavy Rainfall Warning: Heavy rain may occur at isolated places over Coastal Karnataka and ghat areas of South Interior Karnataka during next 48 hours.
Fisheries Warning: Strong onshore winds mainly from westerly to southwesterly direction speed occasionally reaching 45 to 55 kmph likely along off Karnataka coast during next 24 hours.
Local forecast: Generally cloudy sky. Surface winds will be strong and gusty at times. Light rain likely.
