Torrential rains continue to lash Patna
Patna, Jun 15 (UNI) Torrential rains continued to lash the Bihar capital and its neighbouring districts for the third consecutive day today.
Incessant rains during the past 48 hours threw life out of gear in the state capital. Roads and lanes were flooded and water from choked sewerages also entered the houses of the low-lying areas in the city.
The inclement weather was followed by load shedding as incessant showers triggered power cuts plunging several areas here into darkness.
Official sources said lightning damaged power supply equipment at Patna Electricity Supply Undertaking (PESU) causing major power cuts across the city.
The city recorded 88.2 mm rainfall so far. Met officials informed that the maximum temperature was recorded at 27.2 degrees Celsius and the minimum at 25 degrees Celsius.
The Met officials predicted partly cloudy sky with the possibility of rain or thundershower in some areas during the next 24 hours.
