South-West Monsoon week over Kerala, Lakshadweep
Thiruvananthapuram, Jun 15 (UNI) The South-West monsoon has been weak over Kerala even as rain occurred at many places in the State, while Lakshadweep experienced very light showers in the last 24 hours.
According to the local weather office, Kannur, Kozhikode and Majeri recorded the highest rainfall of two cm each, while CIAL, Kochi, Thalassery and Vythri received one cm each.
Rain or thundershowers will occur at many places in the state and at isloated places in Lakshadweep, it said.
Strong onshore wind from westerly direction with speeds occasionally reaching 45-55 kmph was likely along and off Kerala Coast and over Lakshadweep in the next 48 hours, the office added.
