Police Sub-Inspector commits suicide in Mah

Mumbai, Jun 15: A Police Sub-Inspector attached to LA (license Arms) today committed suicide by shooting himself by his service revolver at Shiv Sena Bhavan, Dadar in north-central Mumbai.

The deceased has been identified as Pradeep Mane, who was deployed as guard at Shiv Sena Bhavan. At about 1230 hrs he shot himself, police said and added that cause of the suicide was not ascertained.

However, Shivaji Park police declined to divulge any details of the incident.

Taking this case into account, in last five days, two police personnel have committed suicide by shooting themselves from their service weapons in the jurisdiction of city commissionerate.

On June 11, one Mohan Waman Deshmukh (40), who was attached to LA-4 and deployed as guard at the Dena Bank branch of Juhu, committed suicide in similar manner.
