National kabaddi player held with banned drug worth Rs 2 cr

Ludhiana, Jun 15: Sleuths of the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) arrested a National level Kabaddi player, including his three associates, and recovered Exctasy and Catamine tablets from their possession in the national capital.

According to DRI Joint Director Dheeraj Rastogi (Ludhiana), Punjab Police Head Constable Rattan Singh, a Kabaddi player, and his three associates were intercepted by a DRI team when they entered Delhi in a car yesterday. The four were coming from Jaipur side.

Mr Rastogi said exctasy tablets weighing 60 kg and ketamine tablets weighing 150 kg were recovered from their car.

He said the combined value of these banned drug was round Rs two crore.

All four people were arrested under NDPS act.

Mr Rastogi said another DRI team recovered Rs twelve lakh from the house of Rattan Singh in Sangrur in Punjab and added that an investigation is being conducted in the case.

The raid in Delhi was carried out by a joint team of the Ludhiana and Delhi Directorates.
