Jaipur, Jun 15 (UNI) The decisive round of talks between Gujjars and the Rajasthan government over the community's demand for ST status is scheduled to be held here tomorrow and Gujjar leader Col(retd) Kirodi Singh Bainsla is expected to join the dialogue process.
Talking to reporters here this evening, government delegation leader and Rajya Sabha MP Ramdas Agrawal and Gujjar Delegation leader Baba Ghulam Shah, Badshah University Jammu and Kashmir Vice Chancellor Masood Chaudhary said Col Bainsla would visit Jaipur to participate in the talks.
Mr Agrawal, Mr Chaudhary, BJP state president and Rajya Sabha MP Om Prakash Mathur held a brief meeting at Mr Agrawal's residence, with the four-member team, which returned after taking tips from Col Bainsla in Pillukapura.
Earlier, a short-spell uncertainty, which hung last night over the fate of the ongoing Gujjar-Rajasthan government talks over ST status, ended today as a four-member team took tips from the Gujjar leader in Pillukapura over the future course of the ongoing dialogue.
The team comprising two Gujjar leaders and as many officials flew to Pillukapura by helicopter early today and held a two-hour-long meeting with the Gujjar leader, who has been spearheading a dharna on rail tracks at Pillukapura since May 23.
The visiting team had briefed the retired Colonel on the progress in the official talks during the past two days and sought his guidelines over the future stand of the Gujjars at the dialogue table.
The team also invited Col Bainsla to come to the Pink City and join in further talks.
