Dindigul, Jun 15: What could have been a major mishap was averted with timely detection of a crack on the rail tracks at Mothanampatti village between Dindigul and Ambathurai sections in Dindigul district today.
Railway sources said an alert railway gangman noticed the crack and brought it to the notice of railway officials. Following this, the authorities suspended train traffic on the section.
A railway team from here fixed the crack after which traffic was resumed in the section.
