BSP announces names of 50 candidates for C'garh Assly polls
Raipur, June 15 (UNI) The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) today announced a list of candidates from 50 seats for the Chhattisgarh assembly elections slated to take place by the of end of this year.
State BSP President Dauram Ratnakar told UNI here that names of candidates for the rest of the seats would be announced soon.
He said the names were announced after approval of BSP supremo and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati. The candidates were made incharge of their respective constituencies.
The BSP is the first national party to announcing the list of candidates. Other major parties including the ruling BJP and main opposition Congress were in the initial phases of selecting candidates.
The party was successful in only two seats in the 90-seat Vidhan Sabha during the previous elections.
