16 die in a bus accident in Himachal Pradesh

Shimla, June 15: At least 16 people were killed and six others were injured in a bus accident near Rampur, around 135 Km away from Shimla on Sunday morning.

The State Transport bus was going from Bachri village to Rampur, when bus driver lost control due to bad weather and the bus fell into a 300 meter deep gorge, passengers said.

Three persons who sustained critical injuries were admitted to Indira Gandhi Medical Hospital in Shimla and a magisterial probe had been ordered to find out the exact cause of the accident.

The exact number of persons travelling in the bus was not known and rescue operation was on to find out the missing passengers.

According to Deputy Commissioner of Shimla J. C Rana, all 16 bodies had been recovered and the injured were admitted to the Rampur Hospital.
