Wayne Rooney wedding party noise compels furious neighbours call police

By Staff

London, June 14 : People residing near the five-star Hotel Bentley in Genoa, Italy, became so angry over ace footballer Wayne Rooney's noisy wedding party last night, that they called the police to complain about it.

A Genoa police spokesman has revealed that furious residents telephoned the police in the early hours to complain about the music blaring out from the hotel.

"Several calls were received from residents in the area complaining about the level of the music coming from the hotel," the Telegraph quoted him as saying.

"A couple of units were sent there at 4am in the morning and they were taken up to the room where they asked for the noise to be turned down as it was disturbing the locals," he added.

The police spokesman also revealed that Rooney himself apologised to the officers who attended the scene, and that the rest of the night passed off peacefully.

"From what I understand, they were members of Wayne Rooney's party and he himself was very polite and courteous. He apologised and the music was turned down," he said.

Rooney married his childhood sweetheart Coleen McLoughlin on Thursday, and the couple spent their first night on board the 80 million pound super-yacht, which they have chartered for the week.

It is thought that they may now head for Sardinia aboard the yacht, before jetting off to a more exotic honeymoon location.
