Patna, Jun 14 (UNI) Senior BJP leader and former union minister Rajiv Pratap Rudi today filed his nomination for the June 26 by-election to a Rajya Sabha seat from Bihar.
The by-election has been necessiatated following the termination of party membership of former MP Captain Jai Narain Nishad on charge of quiting BJP and joining RJD.
State assembly secretary cum returning officer Surendra Prasad Sharma said Mr Rudi was the lone candidate to have filed nomination for the election so far, as the last date for filing of paper is June 16, while the scrutiny would be done the next day.
The last date for withdrawal of nomination is June 19 and polling, if necessary, would be held on June 26, he informed.
