New tourist spot to be developed
Bidar, Jun 14 (UNI) Basavakalyana, the birth place of 12th century saint Basaveshwara, will be developed into a tourist spot, Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa announced today.
Speaking at a review meeting of the Basavakalyan Development Board here, he said funds for this would be released soon.
Mr Yeddyurappa also exhorted the officials to develop Basavakalyan into an international tourist spot.
The Chief Minister also assured to provide all facilities to lakhs of Sikh pilgrims visiting the famous Gurudwara in Bidar every year.
Later, addressing a public meeting, Mr Yeddyurappa said steps were being taken to convert the Air force Airport in Bidar as Civil Airport and added Rs three crore had already been released for the purpose.
