Patna, Jun 14 (UNI) Former Civil Aviation Minister and senior BJP leader Rajiv Pratap Rudy today exuded confidence about the NDA returning to power in the next Lok Sabha elections with a comfortable majority.
''Our party (BJP) is fully geared up to fight the coming elections under the able leadership of Mr Lal Krishna Advani and confident of winning the majority hands down,'' Mr Rudy told UNI here today on his arrival to file the nominations for the lone Rajya Sabha by-election from Bihar, slated for June 26.
The by-election has been necessitated following the cancellation of party membership of sitting MP Captain Jaynarain Nisad under the anti-defection law after he quit the BJP and joined the RJD.
Claiming that all preparations within the party framework had been completed to project Mr Advani as the next Prime Minister, Mr Rudy said he was very confident of the BJP securing maximum number of seats from the state.
The coalition partners of the NDA were all set to win cent per cent seats in Bihar, he explained and ruled out the possibility of any differences in sharing of seats prior to the poll.
Expressing his gratitude to the BJP central leadership for nominating him, a native of Chapta district, as the party candidate for the Rajya Sabha by-election from Bihar, Mr Rudy said he would leave no stone unturned to make the party stronger in the state.
