2 militants holed up in house, policeman injured in Kashmir
Srinagar Jun 14 (UNI) Security forces have launched a major offensive to flush out two militants holed up in a house after an encounter, in which a policeman was wounded in south Kashmir today.
Official sources said the Special Operation Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir police launched a search operation at village Narpora Shopian in south Kashmir district of Pulwama, following a tip-off about the presence of militants.
When the security forces were sealing the particular area militants opened fire from a house causing injuries to an Assistant sub-inspector.
They said later, reinforcement was rushed to the area and cordon around the house was further tightened.
The two militants are reportedly still inside the house, sources said, adding efforts are on to flush them out.
