Top IT Cos recruits 400 students from RMK
Chennai, Jun 13 (UNI) Six top IT and Multinational Companies recruited 400 students of the 2008-09 outgoing batch from RMK&RMD Engineering Colleges at suburban Kavaraipettai.
In all, 658 students registered for the placement and 60.79 per cent, 270 from RMK and 130 from RMD colleges, were recruited, a college release here said.
Of the six top companies, TCS recruited the most number of 268 students, followed by Wipro Technologies Ltd 75, HCL Technologies 13, Keane (India) nine, Syntel Inc. 20 and Tech Mahindra 15 students.
The salaries offered to the students by these companies were in the range of Rs 3 lakh to Rs 3.2 lakh per annum, it said.
Students from the bachelor streams of Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics and Communication, Electrical and Electronics Engineering and Electrical and Instrumentation Engineering and from the Post Graduate streams of Computer Applications and Business Administration participated in the campus placement, the release said.
''Even with the IT slowdown, our students have managed an impressive 60.79 per cent in the recruitment process. This is solely because of our consistent efforts towards providing intensive training for the students on skills requisite for the industry,'' Mr R S Munirathinam, founder-Chairman, RMK Group of Institutions said.
He said the placement rates were increasing annually and the Institutions were expecting 65 companies including HP, Oracle, Microsoft, L and T, Mahindra and Mahindra, Satyam and Infosys to come in for recruitment this year. ''We are working towards 100 per cent placement and will achieve it definitely,'' Mr Munirathinam said.
