TDP will review SEZ policy, if voted to power: Naidu
Visakhapatnam, June 13 (UNI) TDP President N Chandrababu Naidu today said the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) Policy would be reviewed as soon as his party was voted back to power in Andhra Pradesh.
Addressing a press conference before resuming the 'Meekosam Chaitany Yatra' in Visakhapatnam, he said the party would see that there was no middleman in the land acquisition process for setting up SEZs.
Coming down heavily on the 'development slogan' of the Congress in the state, Mr Naidu alleged that there was no clarity with regard to SEZs. The state government was following one kind of procedure and the Centre another, he added.
The TDP would introduce an entirely new system, if it was voted to power in the state, he said.
Industrialists would have to approach farmers directly for acquiring lands and this would ensure that farmers got good price for their lands.
During his four-day programme, Mr Naidu would meet people in five Assembly constituencies and participate in road shows and public meetings beginning from Payakaraopet in the district.
