Bangalore, Jun 13(UNI) The first National Youth Games scheduled from July 22 to 29 was likely to be postponed following heavy rain predicted by the Meteorological Department, Karnataka Minister for Youth Services Gulihatti Shekhar said today.
Speaking to newspersons here, he said that state government has prepared to host the first-ever National Youth Games in July, however the forecast of heavy rains during July-August may force postponement of the event.
Mr Shekhar said that officials of the Organising Committee met him earlier in the day and discussed about the possible rains and hindrance to conduct the Games successfully. " A Final decision likely to be taken in a day or two" he said.
The Minister said that the state government has planned to conduct the event successfully and had released Rs 5 crore for preparedness.
