MP Govt to reduce taxes on petroleum products soon: Raghavji
Shajapur, MP, June 13 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Finance Minister Raghavji today assured that the government would reduce taxes on petroleum products to provide relief from increase in their prices.
Mr Raghavji told reporters here today that the government was studying all aspects related to cutting tax that would cause loss.
The cut was expected next month.
He alleged that the Centre has increased prices of petroleum products but slashed custom and excise duties without taking the state government into confidence.
The Finance Minister said the Centre provided Rs 700 crore as additional allotment to the government due to better implementation of schemes and having no overdraft. Planned expenditure had been increased from Rs 5,800 crore to Rs 14,000 crore. Irrigation potential has increased and road construction work carried out, while efforts had been made to improve power supply.
He said responsibility of concerned officials was being fixed so that foodgrains, kerosene and rice meant for distribution under the Public Distribution System reached needy.
