Jagdalpur, Chhattisgarh, June 13 (UNI) Noted Hindi litterateur late Harivansh Rai Bachchan's famous composition 'Madhushala' would be carved on wood.
'Madhushala' comprising 135 poems would be carved in 70 wooden books. So far, 35 books are ready. After completion of the entire works, expected to take one month, an exhibition would be held in Mumbai.
Local handicraft training centre trainer Ajay Mandawi said Rajya Sabha members Ragadhar Kashyap and Alok Kashyap encouraged him in the project, envisaged by local Dr Kaushlendra Udetpuria.
He said he read the whole book in his pursuit to present two poems to late Bachchan's daughter-in-law Jaya Bachchan and decided to carve all the poems on wood.
Mr Mandawi said Ms Jaya Bachchan got emotional when he presented poems carved on wood to her. She extended full support for his project.
Mr Mandawi urged her to inaugurate the exhibition and to be present on the occasion with family members.
Mr Mandawi is also carving the Holy Bible on wood. Earlier, he had prepared a wooden statue of Art of Living Founder Sri Sri Ravi Shankar and got his name in the Limca Book of World Records.
