Elections to 5 Maharashtra LC seats on July 15
New Delhi, Jun 13 (UNI) Biennial elections and byelections to the five Maharashtra Legislatve Council seats will be held on July 15, the Election Commission announced here today.
Three of the seats are from the Graduates' Constituency (Aurangabad Division, Pune Division and Nagpur Division) and two from Teachers'constituency (Amravati Division and Pune Division).
The notification will be issued on June 20, and the last date of filing nominations is June 27.
Scrutiny of papers will be conducted on June 28, and the candidates can withdraw their names by June 30.
The polls will take place on July 15, and the counting will be held on July 17.
The members, whose terms are expiring are Joshi Shrikant Anantrao, Prof Sharad Patil, Gadkari Nitin Jairam, Khotre Vasantrao Dadarao and G L Ainapure.
