Clashes break out in Nashik
Nashik, Jun 13 (UNI) Clashes broke out in the city's Bagwanpura area today after two groups went on the rampage and resorted to arson and stone pelting over a minor accident.
According to an eyewitness, the incident occurred at around 1530 hrs, when a motorbike, ridden by a boy belonging to Muslim community, hit a boy of Walmiki community, eventually leading to violence.
In the ensuing violence, two motorcycles were burnt, one autorickshaw and 15 other mobikes were damaged.
To disperse the mob, four teargas shells were fired and a mild lathi charge took place, police sources said.
At least 8-10 people were injured, of whom four were policemen.
The situation is now under control. City Police Commissioner Himanshu Roy is personally supervising the operation, they added.
