Udupi, June 13 (UNI) Bharatiya Janata Party Legislator (Udupi) Raghupathy Bhat's wife Padmapriya was reportedly missing since last three days.
Police are yet to come to conclusion whether it was a kidnap case or anything else.
Inspector General of Police (Western Range) A K Prasad told UNI that the car in which Ms Padmapriya left for her mother's house on June 10 was found abandoned near Kunjarugiri temple today. In the car broken bangles, switched off mobile and some tables were found.
According to the complaint lodged with the Shirva Police station, the car was found parked on the side of a mud road near the main road of the temple. The people residing near the temple had not given much thought about the abandoned car as there was also a film shooting going on since last few days.
Mr Prasad said that the temple priest who got suspicious about the car today informed the police who rushed to the spot identified that the car belonged to the wife of Mr Bhat. The police also found the key of the car, broken glass bangles, some cash Mobile and tablets at the site.
The police dog which had been pressed into service had gone up to a nearby pond where it stopped. Senior police officials and fingerprint expert have been rushed to the spot. Investigation is on, Mr Prasad said.
Ms Padmapriya, who left on June 10 to her mother's house in Karnad near Mulky in the District has not reached and no message had been received from her till date.
Mr Bhat who had left Udupi on the same day (June 10) to Bangalore is yet to come back to Udupi and no missing complaint has been filed with the police.
