Dubai, Jun 12 (UNI) An investment company here will partner with Bollywood's largest entertainment house Yash Raj Films (YRF) to launch a multimillion dollar entertainment theme park in the emirate.
The theme park -- YRF Entertainment District -- built along with Dubai Infinity Holdings (DIH) would comprise a movie palace, unique hotels and many other entertainment concepts. All the components of the theme park would be themed around the Yash Raj banner, the Khaleej Times quoted filmmaker Yash Chopra as saying.
The theme park, dedicated to the prestigious film brand, would be DIH's second project after Isla Moda, which would be the world's first island dedicated to fashion.
The YRF brand produced blockbusters such as Veer Zara, Hum Tum, Bunty Aur Babli, Chak De India, in addition to the timeless classics Kabhie Kabhie and Silsila.
DIH CEO Samira Abdulrazza said the park would attract the core demographic component of the country. ''Furthermore, cinema statistics highlight that Bollywood films gross higher than Western films in the region. This will be a one-of-a-kind partnership here in the UAE, which we are very proud to be associated with.'' The first phase of the YRF Entertainment District was scheduled to be completed by 2012.
