Mumbai, Jun 12: Office-goers faced problems to reach their destinations today as local trains on Central Railway line were delayed due to water logging at low-lying areas here.
The train services on Harbour and Main lines were running 10 to 15 mts late in the morning, owing to overnight's heavy rainfall as a result of which office-goers were unable to reach their destination on time.
The Meterological Department forecast rain or thundershowers with a possibility of heavy to very heavy rainfall with gusty winds in the city and its suburb an areas during the next 24 hours, the official sources said.
Disaster Cell of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) admitted that there was water logging in few low-lying areas in the morning. The BMC employee were pressed into action and it was then receded.
Vehicular traffic were on time, the sources added.
According to fire control room, over dozens of uprooted trees and short circuits were reported last night.
The Meterological Department recorded rainfall of 170.4 mm at Colaba and 143.5 mm at Santacruz during last 24 hours that ended at 0830 hrs today.
A total rainfall in this season received in Colaba was 598.7 mm and Santacruz was 595.2 mm.
