Water level in Maharashtra's dams increases by 16 per cent

Mumbai, Jun 12 (UNI) With Maharashtra receiving good rainfall since the start of the monsoons, around 16 per cent of water has accumulated in dams all over the state.

Official sources said in all the big, medium and small irrigation projects in Maharashtra, around 16 pc water had been accumulated.

In the irrigation projects of Konkan, 27 pc water had been accumulated, 16 pc in Marathwada, 19 pc in Nagpur, 15 pc in Amravati, nine pc in Nashik and 12 pc in Pune.

There are total 2,209 projects in Maharashtra and 5,349 mm water was accumulated in these projects. The figure last week was 5,516 mm.

Mumbai city received 447.6 mm of rains, while its suburbs recorded 414.7 mm. Among the districts Thane received 205.7 mm of rains, Raigad 311.19 mm, Ratnagiri 392.3 mm, Sindhudurg 394.5 mm, Nashik 98.2 mm, Dhule 13 mm, Nandurbar 26 mm, Jalgaon 20.1 mm, Ahmednagar 9.9 mm, Pune 56 mm, Solapur 7.1 mm, Satara 62.1 mm, Sangli 22 mm, Kolhapur 152.4 mm, Aurangabad 16.24 mm, Jalna 21.23 mm, Beed 32 mm, Latur 9.2 mm, Osmanabad 23.75 mm, Nanded 30.21 mm, Washim 48.5 mm, Amravati 41.1 mm, Yavatmal 39.8 mm, Wardha 48.5 mm, Nagpur 32.4 mm, Bhandara 49.4 mm, Gondhiya 60.4 mm, Chandrapur 43.2 mm and Gadhchiroli recorded 65.9 mm.
