London, June 12 : The UK's Home Secretary Jacqui Smith has topped a list of female politicians whom lesbians in the country would most like to take on a date.
Smith took top spot in the poll with 34 percent of the votes in the new online Lust for Power? poll by gay-PARSHIP.co.uk - Europe's largest serious dating site for gay men and women.
Coming in second place was Sarah Tether, the Shadow Secretary for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform, with 24 percent of the votes.
The UK's Transport Secretary Ruth Kelly came in third with 18 percent of the votes, with Harriet Harman, Minister for Women, Labour Party Chair, Leader of Commons, in fourth place with 15 percent of the votes.
The top five was rounded off by Theresa May, Shadow Minister for Women, Shadow Leader of Commons, with 9 percent of the votes.
Said gay-PARSHIP spokesman, Adrian Gillan: "Jacqui Smith will be reassured that her at-least-outwardly tough stance on a range of issues goes down well amongst many lesbians - winning out over the youth of Lib Dem love-rival, Sarah Tether. The popularity of Smith's Catholic cabinet colleague, Ruth Kelly, was perhaps the biggest surprise of the poll."
