Chennai, Jun 12 (UNI) Two persons, posing as Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSP) intruded into the residence of Tamil Nadu Congress Committee (TNCC) President M Krishnasamy at Abhiramapuram are here last night.
However, they were nabbed immediately, police said.
The duo, identified as Radhakrishnan (43) of Sholinganallur and Balakrishnan (45) of Thanjavur entered the house and demanded money from Mr Krishnasamy's wife citing health problems.
After getting some money, they tried to escape. But, the TNCC Chief's son M K Vishnu Prasad, who returned home by then, canght the duo and handed them over to the police.
Interrogations revealed that the two hit upon this idea to make a quick buck.
Mr Krishnasamy was stabbed by an unidentified gang, while on way to pay homage to freedom fighter Pasumpon Muthuramalinga Thevar at Mudhukulathur in Ramanathapuram district in October last year.
