Mumbai, Jun 12 (UNI) Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) president Prabha Rau today yet again criticised NCP for its 'Poona pattern' alliance with Shiv Sena.
Talking to newspersons at the party's Gandhi Bhavan office here, Ms Rau said ''Although the NCP claims to be a secular party, it has no qualms about sitting in power in Pune Municipal Corporation with Shiv Sena, while keeping the secular Congress out of power there.'' She said the party workers from all over Maharashtra have been demanding that the Congress should go all alone in the next Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha polls and any alliance with other secular party may be entered into after the elections.
''This view of the party workers will be communicated to the party high command,'' said the MPCC president.
She said in Congress all policy decisions, such as electoral alliances, are taken at the highest level and are adhered to in the State.
Ms Rau said the Congress president Sonia Gandhi will visit Mumbai and Lone in Ahmednagar on June 19. She will address a huge gathering of active party workers at the NSC ground in Goregaon.
