New Delhi, Jun 12 (UNI) Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee has reconstituted the 27-member Press Advisory Committee of the Lower House with Ms Saroj Nagi of Hindustan Times re-nominated as the chairperson of the committee.
Anant Bagaitkar (Sakaal), Javed Ansari (Divya Bhaskar) and Suresh Bafina (Nai Duniya) have also been re-nominated as Vice-Chairman, Secretary and Joint Secretary, respectively.
The other members of the committee include S. Suresh (UNI), Subhash Chander Nigam (Univarta), Ms Kalyani Shankar (Long and Distinguished Service category), K. Kailash (Andhra Bhoomi), Aroop Sen (Ganshakti), Venkatesh Kesri (Asian Age), G. Chandrashekar (Dinamalar), Naresh Kaushik (PTI-Bhasa), Sunil Batra (PTI), Dinesh Amin Mattu (Prajavani), Mukesh Kumar Singh (Zee News), Bhupendra Kumar Chaubey (TV-18) and Ms Usha Srivastava (Rajasthan Patrika).
Also on the committee are Nirmal Pathak (Dainik Bhaskar), Shankar Arminesh (Sahara TV), Mr Ashu Saxena (Punjab Today), C L Manoj (Economic Times), Thomas Dominic (Malayala Manorama), Andalib Akhtar (Akhbar-e-Mashrique), Nigamananda Prusty (Dharitri), Dinesh Sharma (Amrita Prabhat), Ashish Gupta (Asomiya Pratidin) and Shahid Pervez (The Statesman).
The Lok Sabha Speaker constitutes the Press Advisory Committee every year from amongst those representatives of the media who cover the proceedings of the Lower House. The committee, as an interface between the Parliament and the media, recommends to the Speaker the issuance of permanent and temporary Press Gallery passes, besides other things.
